Big Mamaw & me!

Our family has had the privilege of having Big Mamaw visit us for the past 3 weeks. She is 86 years old and enjoys cooking, playing dominoes, and whooping yo' tail at Scrabble. We have made home-made pies & played games until midnight. She has taught Jonas to play the harmonica, sewed Jonas's halloween costume, and has rocked Reese for hours. It has been a HUGE joy to have her visiting but her time here in AR has come to an end. She will be returning to MS next week. We love you so much Mamaw!

After a long day of playing, daddy & I crashed in our fav chair while watching football. By the way, I got up at 6am today and didn't go down for a nap until almost 2.

A man's best friend

Jonas had his speech eval on Sept 17 and was labeled "severe delayed" in his expressive language. He is great with his receptive language (following command) and we are confident that therapy will help enhance his expressive lang. The plan is to start speech therapy twice a week in our home. There is a process to this, so at this point, I don't know anything yet. Hopefully he will be in therapy before the end of the year. When he was tested, he scored on the level between a 7mth-12mth range. Jonas is 21 mths now. What's even funnier, since his eval, he has really been saying more consonant sounds, but not really full words. AND that is improvement!!

My great grandmother is here visiting with Jonas & me this month. She lets me sit in her lap ALL day. I like when she holds me and sometimes it's so comfy, I fall asleep. I love you big mamaw!

Visiting Aunt Deb on Labor Day Wkend

Our camera is still not fixed but I am able to use my mom's pics from her camera. This is Labor Day weekend where we had a relaxing time with Aunt Deb (Su-Su's sister). We always enjoy visiting good ole Tupelo. Jonas fell while we were there and bruised his left eye ...aka black eye.

p.s. the reason there has not been any updates is that our camera is not working at the moment. it seems to have good days and bad days. Jonas finally recovered from his surgery and has been himself for about 7 days now. His terrible, no good, breath went away last Thursday!!!!! That's enough to rejoice about. We have a follow-up appt this Friday so we will know more then. His communication is still the same so not sure how much he is hearing from that right ear. I am sure we will repeat the hearing test this Friday. I have a feeling speech therapy is in our future.
Reese is doing good too! She is sitting up better and starting to make actual babble sounds like "bay bay bay". The past 2 nights she stayed asleep until morning to eat. Usually she wakes between 4-6a to eat, but today it was closer to 7:30! That helps me out lots. She is still rolling over from back to tummy, but not from tummy to back. I HAVE to start feeding her soon with a spoon. Her doc is going to get me if I don't. Her 6mth appt is at the end of the month. Hopefully we will have pics soon!
