The Circus!

Oh boy, Oh boy! The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus came to Little Rock! I must say that my mom has been way too excited over going today. She just couldn't wait for me to see all the sights! This is what I remember.... I did see the very beginning parade of all the clowns, animals, real tall people, and huge elephants. After that, I just had to have a nap. I woke up right before intermission and stayed awake for the rest of it. After watching the acrobats, I wanted to play like that in daddy's lap. He
flipped me upside down and I just giggled. Even though there were some adventurous people there, my daddy is still my favorite. All I could say today was "da". I can't wait to go again when I am bigger... then mom & dad will have to buy me one of those toys that lights up.

p.s. the cotton candy was $10. WHAT? the lozada's did not eat any. but we did have a corn-dog & popcorn.

Bye-Bye Mullet

This is right after mommy cut my hair off! My mullet off!! Mommy didn't take a before picture, but you can look at my other pics to see my mullet.

Mommy put a piece of tape across the bottom of my hair so she could save it.
Here it is on the table.

Of course I show off my big eyes!

Here's my big boy hair-cut. It looks much better than that red-neck mullet I had flowing half-way down my back!

Jonas's Cough & Gagging

The past couple of months Jonas has had a cough in the morning, at night, and then during his sleep. We finally got worried when one night this wk Jonas vomited in his sleep due to coughing so hard. His cough varies, but he usually does it until it makes him vomit. I didn't think much about the vomiting because it wasn't consistent. But this wk he has vomited daily sometimes twice a day. When he coughs, his face becomes red and then he vomits. SO, today I took him to his pediatrician thinking that he might have pertussis (whooping cough). His doctor didn't think it was pertussis but still tested him for it.
Recently Jonas has been gagging right when you give him his bottle and also during his baby food feedings. The doctor now wants to do a swallow study to see if his food is going in the right direction and to make sure he is not aspirating any of it. The swallow study is Tuesday at 2:30 with an occupational therapist. We should know the results soon. Jonas's pertussis test will be ready in 3-5 days. Jonas got a chest x-ray to look for pneumonia, etc and it came back clear. If the swallow study comes back clear, then the doctor said we would focus on allergies and asthma tests. We will keep you posted!
Oh by the way, Jonas weighed in at 19lbs 7oz.
We love you,
Jason, Casey & Jonas

Happy 8 months Today!!

This was taken when you were 1 wk old. Look how big you are and how much you have grown. Mommy & Daddy have LOVED these past 8 mths and look forward to celebrating many more holidays with you. This is what you are doing now.....
Sleeping: You sometimes take 2-3 naps a day, sometimes you only take 1. You go to bed between 8-10 and wake up around 7a every morning. You wake us up by coughing and playing in your crib.
Eating: You eat every 3-4 hours, 6oz formula along with baby-food. Recently you have started gagging on some of your favorite foods. You like any kind of fruit but hate green beans and peas. I have to mix them with fruit to get you to eat them. I tried feeding you a peach through a mesh bag and you didn't like it. You did like the banana in the bag but only for a few minutes.
Play-time: You like sitting up and banging toys on the floor. You LOVE your daddy's guitar and strumming it. You like your rocking horse rattle that goes round-n-round. You still like your jumparoo, but we don't play with it as much as we used to. You like rolling around the floor and playing with Millie too. The ring links are a big hit in our house as well. Oh, and you do like your passi. Another favorite thing for you is grabbing at anything shiny.... necklaces we wear, our watches, rings, keys, etc. You love them! Not sure what the fetish is.
We LOVE you sweet Jonas!

Mesmerized...

by my dad's guitar playing! I just love when he brings out that instrument and strums for me.

He even lets me play... I admire you daddy!

Thanks for letting me make a song like you.

Yeah buddy.... I go to town on this thing!

Dad plays all kinds of songs for me. He also lets me play the keyboard. We'll have to get pictures of that too.

Playing at Toys R Us

Okay Grandparents. One day I want one of these. It doesn't have to be a fire-truck, just something that goes! Wait until I am 3 or 4 though. I did like playing on this fire truck today. The first thing I did was grab the steering wheel.

And then I went to the walkie-talkie.

This is mom & me riding on a pony. He was fun too. I like how soft & fuzzy he feels.

I love me some walkie-talkie. You might not understand me, but I love to babble.

Rhonda the Honda

Jason & I bought our first vehicle together this past Friday night. Meet Rhonda the Honda Element and all her beauty. We love the space and no carpet floors. We plan on taking our first road trip in it this weekend. We also love how the seats recline all the way back flat so that you can really sleep on long trips.

Celebrating Mom's Birthday

We celebrated my mom's birthday last weekend on August 6 because she turned 26! I didn't really like wearing my party hat, but I liked chewing on it. Su-Su fed me home-made ice cream and I thought it was YUMMY! I love you mommy!
p.s. Sarah, thank you for the home-made chocolate pie. It was delicious!

I love the remotes!

Of course I want to be just like daddy by loving to flick the TV channels. A boy can't have too many remotes :)

Jonas-ba-gonas

Here I am trying to show you my teeth. It's a little blurry, but you can see them peeking through. I like to bite and have bitten my mom twice and my Su-Su once. What will mom do with me? What's funny is that I don't bite myself. That would hurt!

I am looking at my rocking-horse rattle.
This is one of my favorite toys to play with.

Millie wants to get up here with me!

Cheese again!

I like to stick my tongue out and blow bubbles at the same time.
Mom tries it and it tickles her. I like to do it .....
just another way for me to talk.
